HYDRO PHYSIO’s success featured on South Korean Television.

HYDRO PHYSIO is encouraged to see how the popularity of pioneering underwater treadmills’ reaches overseas markets. During the last visit to our South Korean distributor, Apsun Inc. we had the first hand opportunity to see the treadmills in daily use. The treadmills have had a positive impact and are affecting the health and well-being of patients suffering from various conditions.

It was inspiring to see how the HYDRO PHYSIO treadmills complement other specialist medical equipment in hospitals and rehabilitations centres. One of the eight visited facilities, Jeju National University Hospital aims to be a world-class health care service provider and continues to prioritise patient needs. They have realised the requirement for HYDRO PHYSIO treadmills as they aid patients before and after surgery. The ability to analyse patients in the panoramic glass design, assists their development and recuperation.

One of Jeju National University Hospital’s patients was diagnosed with Acute Myocardial Infraction (heart attack where the blood stops flowing properly, resulting in an injured heart - AMI). According to OECD/WHO (2012), "In-hospital mortality following acute myocardial infarction and stroke", in Health at a Glance: Asia/Pacific 2012, OECD Publishing, AMI and stroke each account for around 3 million deaths a year in the Asia/Pacific region, whilst also being two of the major causes of death and disability.

Reporting a 9.8% case-fatality rate, The Republic of South Korea report an improvement of care and effective medical intervention. Straight after immediate diagnosis and surgery, the 60 year old patient benefited from using the HYDRO PHYSIO treatment. "Doctors recommended hydrotherapy. I have lost about 15lbs and my heart rate has been classed as normal since I received this treatment. I have no difficulties in walking and breathing now" he explained.

It is scientifically proven that morbidity from myocardial infarction can be reduced if the symptoms are diagnosed at an early stage and treatment starts immediately. With HYDRO PHYSIO aquatic treadmills, the risks of the condition can be dramatically reduced and prevented. This allows patients to maintain mobility, strength and improve cardiovascular function.

It is also recognised that most of the AMI patients are in the older age group and suffer from arthritis. Doctors working with the water treadmills recognise the efficiency of regaining mobility faster within this group of patients and the great advantage of having the rehabilitation treatment customised for individual patients' needs.

Once again, HYDRO PHYSIO has delivered an impressive hydrotherapy installation. From initial specification to installation and full maintenance of treadmills, satisfaction for both customers and patients is our aim. HYDRO PHYSIO strives to design and manufacture the ultimate aqua therapy products.
